Public Service:

Council Vice President Ed Brady was elected to his third term on the Cranston City Council this past November. Ed is recognized as a leading small business advocate in Rhode Island. He was asked by Lieutenant Governor Daniel McKee to assist in his gubernatorial transition as Governor Gina Raimondo also transitions and makes plans to resign. Ed actively supports efforts to preserve and enhance the business community with the goals of sustaining jobs and expanding employment opportunities for all Rhode Islanders.

Community Service:

Recently, Council Vice President Ed Brady worked with the Cranston community and parks and recreation department to build new community basketball courts at George J. Peters Elementary School and Beachmont Basketball Courts in Edgewood. Ed and his volunteer team also unveiling a new community dog park in Edgewood with The RI Dream Center and Parks and Recreation. As a board member of The Cranston West Alumni Association, Ed and the board raised close to a million dollars to renovate the new Cranston West Alumni Auditorium and Alumni Pavilion.

Employment:

In addition to serving as a Council Person, Ed is an entrepreneur and part owner of Dig In Dining. Their restaurant group owns and operates various restaurants/brands throughout New England including The Thirsty Beaver Hometown Pub and Grub in Cranston and Smithfield.

Education:

He was born and raised in Cranston, Rhode Island and is a 2002 graduate of Cranston High School West. Upon graduating high school Ed earned his degree in Business Administration at Bryant University in Smithfield. Council Vice President Brady speaks throughout the year at various entrepreneurship opportunities and also at the CEO speaker series for the entrepreneurship program at Bryant University annually.

Personal:

Ed has led many charitable efforts in Rhode Island and has helped raise millions of dollars for various non profits throughout the state of Rhode Island. He continues to work with The Rhode Island Dream Center here in Cranston and has fed thousands of families in need throughout the last decade.
