Announces the Application Period for the
Mayor’s Scholarship Program
The City of Cranston
Department of Community Development
Is offering new Scholarships for the 2026-2027 school year.
Scholarships will be awarded for the semester beginning in September 2026.
Eligible applicants must:
- Be a June 2026 graduate of a public or private high school or a graduate of the Cranston Adult Education Program
- Be a legal resident of the City of Cranston
- Meet income guidelines established by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Guidelines are printed at the bottom
- Complete an application and return it with a school transcript to the Department of Community Development, Peter Pastore Youth Center, 155 Gansett Ave., Cranston, RI 02910.
- Applications available on City’s Website, www.Cranstonri.gov, at Community Development page
- Applications must be returned by May 29, 2026
- All applicants should have a “Free Application for Federal Student Aid” (FAFSA) on file with the Rhode Island Higher Education Assistance Authority
